5 Easy Ways to Give a Blowjob with a Condom

Despite what your high school sex ed teacher may have taught you, condoms are for a lot more than just bananas and intercourse. Infections don’t care, and can grow just as happily in the mouth or throat as they can in a vagina or anus, any moist mucus membrane is good for them, which is why many people use condoms and dams as a part of their safer sex practices. Unfortunately, barriers during oral play isn’t something we hear talked about nearly often enough, and while it’s a different experience from bareback, it can still be really sexy. I’ve gathered a few of my top tips for making condom adorned cocksucking that much better, and stay tuned for a bonus video at the end!

Find a Condom That Works For You

There are countless condoms out there, and trust me when I say that they are not all the same. Between the tastes of the wearer and the person who’s mouth is on it, there’s a lot to consider. The person wearing it is going to want to make sure the size and thickness is compatible with what they’re looking for, a thinner condom is going to transmit more sensation while a thicker one will help delay ejaculation.

Size is also about a whole lot more than just “I probably need a magnum right?” Each brand is a slightly different size, and occasionally a different shape, which means they’re all going to offer a different fit. You’ll also want to think about taste and material. Do either of you have a latex allergy? Do you want flavored condoms? Does the color and appearance matter to you?

The best way to find the best condom for you is to just experiment and try them all out. I know it sounds grueling, but you’re just going to have to have a lot of sex.

Add Lube

Okay, so I’m sure I could put this on every list ever about making sex better, but I’ve found lube particularly useful when latex and blowjobs combine. A few drops of lube inside the condom are going to allow it to slide easily against the head of the penis, which will offer more sensation, but you don’t want to add too much otherwise you risk the condom slipping off. This works great for any kind of sex by the way.

Additionally, though I rarely have issues with my mouth drying out when wrapped around flesh, I find the combination of latex and cheap silicone lube on a condom leads to way more friction than I’m used to, and for the most part, it’s the wetter the better when it comes to blowjobs. I usually default to more deep throating in this situation, because having a cock in the back of your throat will produce a thicker, longer lasting saliva (and more of it!) but having a bottle of Sliquid nearby could also help smooth things along.

Make it Sexy

Condoms have a bad wrap, they’re seen as a task or a chore, something that inhibits sexy time, but getting a condom doesn’t have to be a break in the play, it can be a part of the play. In preparing this post, my partner told me he loves the way I look up at him as he unwraps the condom. There’s that moment of anticipation, where we both know what’s going to happen next, but we have to wait for it, and he can see how eager I am, open mouthed wide eyed, and desperate for my favorite thing in the world.

There’s nothing I love more than a new partner having a condom on hand, especially if they didn’t know for sure that we were going to have sex, because it means that they were hoping we would. It means that when they were getting ready to see me they were pondering what it might look like if the evening ends in sex. Even if you don’t have a condom in arm’s reach, it doesn’t mean the play has to stop. All it takes is a smirk and an “I want you to play with your cock for daddy until he gets back” and now you have your very own show while you walk across the room to grab the condoms in your bag.1

Creative Barrier Solutions aka Sexy Arts and Crafts

The problem with a condom is that it doesn’t offer complete protection, unfortunately nothing does. STIs that live on the skin, such as herpes, can be transmitted with any skin to skin contact, which means if I’m using a condom for safer oral sex, my movement is a little bit limited. Typically, my cocksucking involves much more than just the shaft. I love licking and sucking the balls, cupping and bringing them up near the shaft so I can lick and tease everything at once. If my partner’s down I also love to bury my face between their thighs and lick and tease their ass, but unfortunately, these are all areas that aren’t protected by a condom.

Luckily, all hope is not lost! If you have a spare condom you can cut off the head and cut up the side to create a dam, a square sheet of latex that you can hold between any part of someone’s body and your mouth, so you can feel free to lick and suck wherever you please. You can also place a condom around the balls – depending on your partner’s size and comfort with pressure on their scrotum. Comfort on that one may vary, but it does give a lot more leeway for ball sucking, which is very important in my humble opinion.

Take it Slow

The first time I sucked dick with a condom on it I was… not thrilled. You see, my BJ skills are one of the things I am the most confident in, and suddenly I didn’t feel quite as good at it as I did before. It’s different, I’m probably not supposed to tell you that, but it is. It feels different in your mouth, it feels different to the body wearing the condom, and it had a bit of a learning curve.

Hell, I’ve done it my fair share of times now and I’m still not as confident with my rubber-facilitated fellatio. The added friction makes it harder for the cock to slide easily down your throat, and the reservoir tip triggers my gag reflex way easier than I’m used to, but just like learning a new lover’s preferences, you can learn how the condom integrates into your blowjobs too!
